The Second Meeting of Women Parliamentarians Group titled “Introduction of Mandatory Quotas for Women in Leadership Positions in the National Companies and State Enterprises of the TURKPA Member States” was held on 27 April 2023 in Ankara within the framework of the Twelfth Plenary Session of TURKPA.

The meeting was opened by Cholpon Sultanbekova, Head of the Group and member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Women parliamentarians exchanged views on the topic and shared good practices on implementation of national strategies and programs on issues related to equal opportunities for women and men in Member States. Participants discussed the issues on joining initiatives for further increasing women empowerment at all levels of decision-making, including development of capacity building programs aimed at training of women for leadership positions.

The meeting concluded with adoption of the Recommendations on the main theme as an outcome document of the Group’s meeting.
