On 23 February 2023, Chairperson of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova received Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er.

Head of Parliament noted that activities of TURKPA contributed to further expansion of fraternal relations of the member states. Touching on the importance attached by the Milli Majlis to the cooperation within the Assembly, Gafarova noted the development of cooperation among the member parliaments over the past period.

Chairperson of the Milli Majlis spoke about the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN) established at the initiative of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and mentioned the growing international interest in the Parliamentary Network. She highly appreciated the participation of TURKPA in the Inaugural Meeting and Baku Conference of the NAM PN.

Secretary General expressed gratitude for the attention and support of the Milli Majlis to the Organization and informed on the activities of the Secretariat. He stressed the great significance attached by the Assembly to the cooperation with the NAM PN.

At the end of the meeting, Chairperson of the Milli Majlis and of the NAM PN Sahiba Gafarova and TURKPA Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two organizations.
