On 23 February 2023, Azerbaijan Country Representative of the Turkish Maarif Foundation Dr. Serdar Gündoğan visited TURKPA Secretariat and met with Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er.

During the meeting, Mr. Gündoğan informed on the services and social opportunities provided by the International Maarif Schools established in Baku.

Secretary General congratulated Dr. Serdar Gündoğan for his inauguration as the Azerbaijan Country Representative of the Turkish Maarif Foundation and stated that the Turkish Maarif Foundation is recognized for its education based on the common accumulations of humanity and the ancient wisdom tradition of Anatolia.

The Maarif Foundation, as the current flag bearer of Türkiye's deep-rooted education acquis, is now active in 67 countries with 418 schools and dormitories, from simple education centers to universities, that cater to 49,823 students.

As an educational diplomacy move the Foundation has become an important worldwide brand in the few years since it set out to expand Türkiye’s clout in the sector and continues its efforts to open educational institutions in different cities of Azerbaijan just after capital city of Baku.
