TURKPA observers presented statement on presidential election in Kazakhstan
On 10 June 2019, TURKPA International Observers Mission gave the press conference on the outcomes of its monitoring the early presidential election in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Mr. İsmet Uçma, Head of the Mission and member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey informed the media representatives about TURKPA’s observation programme. Mr. Uçma briefed on the Mission’s preliminary conclusions and assessments as regards pre-election environment and voting process on the election day.
The Mission had an opportunity to observe voting, counting of ballots, tabulation of results, as well as to talk to voters and officials of the polling stations. In the course of its programme, the mission met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission and representatives of the political parties.
The Mission mentioned that it had not observed any significant violations or deviations from the legal framework. TURKPA observers concluded that the presidential elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan of 9 June 2019 were held in accordance with national legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international election standards.
