On 16 March 2023, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er took part at the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Organization of Turkic States in Ankara. The meeting hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu was chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bahtiyar Saidov.

Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the OTS member and observer states, as well as heads of Turkic cooperation organizations attended the event.

The Ministers and Deputy Ministers finalized relevant documents on the agenda items to be discussed by the Heads of State at the Extraordinary Summit.
