Constitutional Referendum in the Republic of Turkey

‘’Referendum on the amendments into the Constitution in the Republic of Turkey was held in compliance with the national legislation of Turkey and international standards’’, said member of the TurkPA observers delegation, member of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Mr. Ahliman Amiraslanov at the press conference dedicated to the outcome of the nation-wide referendum held on 16th April, 2017 on the proposed changes into the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey.

During the short-term monitoring TurkPA observers, comprised of MPs from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, visited a number of polling stations in Ankara, observed polling as well as vote counting.

Prior to the polls the TurkPA representatives met with Mr. Sadi Güven, Chairman of the High Election Board, top officials of ruling AK Party and main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP).
