Secretary General attended event dedicated to the 104th anniversary of liberation of Baku

On 15 September 2022, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er attended the event dedicated to the 104th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from bolshevik-dashnak occupation that is one of the vivid manifestations of the brotherhood of Azerbaijan and Türkiye. The event hosted by the Embassy of Türkiye to Azerbaijan was held at the Nuri Paşa Hall of the Embassy.

Cahit Bağcı, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye in Azerbaijan, Gunay Afandiyeva, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, MP’s, officials, representatives of media, as well as well-known political and public figures were among the participants of the event.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Cahit Bağcı paid tribute to the reminiscence of the martyrs and expressed his condolences to brotherly people over the loss of lives as result of the military provocation of the Armenian armed forces. The memory of the martyr’s of Azerbaijan and Türkiye was commemorated with a minute of silence and national anthems of two countries were sounded.

During the conference Secretary General also delivered a speech.

Prior to the conference an art exhibition devoted to the 104th anniversary of the liberation of Baku by Caucasian Islamic Army led by Nuri Paşa, Commander-in-Chief, known as “Liberator of Baku” was also organized.
