On 23 December 2022, TURKPA Chairman-in-Office, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Nurlanbek Shakiyev received Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er.

Secretary General congratulated Mr. Nurlanbek Shakiyev on his election as the Chairman of Jogorku Kenesh and wished every success in his future activities. Mr. Er briefed the Chairman-in-Office on the current and future activities of TURKPA within the frame of the Strategic Roadmap 2023-2028 and Plan of Activities for 2023 adopted during the Eleventh Plenary Session held in Cholpon-Ata on 24 June 2022, as well as on the ongoing preparations for the Twelfth Plenary Session to be held on 23-25 April 2023 in Istanbul.

In his turn, Head of Parliament stressed the significance of the mutually beneficial relations among the brotherly Turkic States and of continuous and constructive work of TURKPA directed at strengthening of cooperation in the region through the parliamentary diplomacy.

The parties also exchanged views on further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation under the TURKPA aegis.
