Second meeting of the TURKPA Commission on International relations was held on 11-12 December 2012 in Astana.
The report and recommendation on “Place and role of Turkic Council, TURKPA and TURKSOY in developing relationships among Turkic-speaking states” was discussed in the meeting, which took place in the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Rapublic of Kazakhstan.
Members of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and staff members of the TURKPA International Secretariat participated at the meeting headed by Ms. Ülker Güzel, Vice-Chair of the Commission, member of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey. At the same time, members of commission made speech and exchange of views were made at the meeting. Mr. Kuanysh Sultanov, Member of the Committee on International Relations, Defence and Security of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was expected to participate and make welcoming address at the meeting.
At the same time, participation and speech of Mr. Gismat Gozalov, Deputy Secretary General of Turkic Council, Mr. Shakimashrip Ibrayev, Director of the Turkic Academy and Mr. Mustafa Baskurt, Secretary General of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities, were expected at the meeting.
TURKPA Secretary General Mr. Ramil Hasanov also made a speech at the meeting and inform the members of commission on TURKPA’s activities in 2011-2012.
Report and Recommendation on place and role of Turkic Council, TURKPA and TURKSOY in developing relationships among Turkic-speaking states, were expected to be adopted and presented for adoption in the IV plenary session of TURKPA to be held in Turkey in 2013. In addition, date, venue and agenda of the 3rd Commission meeting was determined.
The same day, meeting of delegation with Mr. Kabibulla Dzhakupov, Vice-Chairman of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was expected.
During the visit, TURKPA Secretary General Mr. Ramil Hasanov was expected to hold bilateral meeting with Mr. Erlan Idrissov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
