The Ninth Meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations was held on 9 June 2022 in virtual format. The main theme of the meeting was “Role of Parliaments in foreign policy cooperation”.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Erol Kaya, Chairman of the Commission and member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. Members of the Commission and representatives of the Secretariat attended the event. The Commission approved the report and recommendations presented accordingly by Mr. Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov, Vice-Chairman of the Commission and member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Erol Kaya, Chairman of the Commission. The documents will be submitted to the Eleventh Plenary Session of TURKPA to take place on 23-24 June 2022 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

The participants were also informed on the themes of the Commission meetings and model laws to be elaborated within the Commission for the upcoming period of 2023-2028. The Commission also discussed the amendments to the Regulations of TURKPA on Medals for Merit and Medal Certificates.

It was decided that the next Commission meeting would be held in Türkiye in February 2023 under the theme "TURKPA's 15th Anniversary: ​​Cooperation between Member States".
