The Fifth meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation took place on 7th December 2017 in Bishkek within the framework of TURKPA 7th Plenary Session. The main item of the agenda of the meeting was “Diversification of economy in the member countries”

The meeting was chaired by Mr Salaidin Aydarov, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic.

Mr Hasan Karal, Member of Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mr Ilham Aliyev and Aghalar Valiyev, members of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Berik Osponov, member of Majilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr Baktibek Rayimkulov, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the meeting. Mr Salaidin Aydarov presented a report and recommendation on diversification of economy in TURKPA member countries.

Mr Aydarov was elected the Vice – Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation during the 7th Plenary Session held on 8th December 2017.

Members of the Commission stressed that many developing countries in the world are seeking to achieve economic diversification. In addition, there was an exchange of views on the need for political will, effective state policy and large financial resources to pursue successful economic on the matter.

The next sixth meeting of the Commission was scheduled to take place on October 2018 in Turkey.
