On 28 October 2022, Deputy Secretary General Nooruzbek Arstanbekov took part in the Conference “Lithuanian Karaims” devoted to the Year of Lithuanian Karaims’ History and Culture, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Baku, in cooperation with the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.

The event was attended by officials, representatives of diplomatic corps, as well as Lithuanian Karaims, and public figures.

President of International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Azerbaijan Egidijus Navikas, Chairperson of the Cultural Association of Lithuanian Karaims Karina Firkavichute and other guests addressed the conference. The participants touched on the historical roots of the Lithuanian Karaims, their place and role in Lithuanian society.

An art exhibition presenting samples of culture and national clothes of Karaims was also organized within the frame of the event. Karaim artists performed national music and songs.
