Azerbaijani MFA organized events dedicated to 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev in Nakhchivan

On 6 May 2023, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er took part in the events organized in the city of Nakhchivan by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.

The events were attended by 140 diplomats and military attaches from 80 countries and representatives of 23 organizations accredited in Azerbaijan with residences in Baku and Ankara.

The participants visited the monument of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and Heydar Aliyev Museum, where they became acquainted with photographs and exhibits related to the life and work of Heydar Aliyev. The guests were given detailed information about the political activities of Heydar Aliyev, presented stands dedicated to his family, his childhood and youth, documents and materials related to the period when he was the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The museum's library also featured magazines, albums and books, films and newspaper materials reflecting the life and work of Heydar Aliyev.

Within the framework of the visit, the guests took part in a conference under the theme "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan's foreign policy." During the speeches, foreign guests were given detailed information about the life path and tireless activities of the Great Leader for the sustainable development of Azerbaijan, and the role of Heydar Aliyev in the statehood and development history of Azerbaijan was underlined.

A video dedicated to the National Leader was demonstrated as part of the event.

The event ended with a concert performed by the Nakhchivan State University Symphony Orchestra.

During the visit, the guests also became acquainted with the cultural, historical and tourist attractions of the city.
