Secretary General attended PABSEC 61st Plenary Session

On 4-5 May 2023, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er, in the capacity of observer, took part in the 61th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in Ankara.

The Plenary Session brought together parliamentary delegations of the PABSEC member countries, as well as observer and guest delegations.

The opening ceremony was addressed by Mustafa Şentop, PABSEC President, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.

Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er delivered a speech during the Session.

The agenda items included adoption of the reports and recommendations of the PABSEC committees, as well as presentation of information on the activities of the BSEC, its related bodies and sectoral dialogue partners.

The Progress Report and the Minutes of the Sixtieth Plenary Session, and the credentials of the new members of the Assembly, from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Romania, Türkiye and Ukraine were approved by the Assembly.

The Assembly took the decision to grant the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network observer status in the PABSEC.

The PABSEC Presidency was transferred to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
