On 18 March 2023, upon the invitation of the Consul General of Türkiye in Almaty Ali Rıza Akıncı, the members of the TURKPA Election Observation Mission (EOM) took part in a meeting with participation of Kazakhstani volunteers who provided humanitarian aid to Türkiye following the devastating earthquakes in the southern region of the country on 6 February 2023.

During the meeting, the Consul General expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for their support.

In his turn, member of the EOM, member of the Grand National Assemby of Türkiye İbrahim Aydemir also thanked the volunteers for their help and support in the trying times, and expressed confidence that the unity and solidarity of the Turkic peoples will give impetus to the further development of bilateral and multilateral relations between the Turkic states.

On the same day, the members of the EOM met with the Chairperson of the Territorial Election Commission (TEC) of Almaty Aigul Kalykova.

The observers were informed on the work of the TEC as regards the preparations for the elections.

On 20 March 2023, TURKPA observers visited the Eurasian Research Institute of the International Akhmet Yassawi University in Almaty.

Director of the Institute Suat Beylur briefed on the activities of the Institute, as well as upcoming projects.

Wishing success to the Institute in its activities, Mr. Aydemir spoke about the work of the Assembly, as well as its observation activities.
