TURKPA participated in the event dedicated to International Migrants Day

On 16 December 2022, Deputy Secretary General Talgat Aduov participated in the event under the theme "Migration in Azerbaijan: Equality, Diversity and Inclusiveness", jointly organized by the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan and the Representative Office of the International Center for Migration Policy Development in Azerbaijan, on the occasion of International Migrants Day.

The event brought together representatives of the State Migration Service, diplomatic missions, international organizations, government bodies, civil society organizations and private sector.

Vusal Huseynov, Head of the State Migration Service, made an opening speech and touched upon the importance of International Migrants Day, which is celebrated annually providing an opportunity to discuss key issues related to migration. He also informed on the measures implemented by the State Migration Service on managing migration, integrating migrants into society, protecting their well-being, rights and freedoms.

In her turn, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva noted that Azerbaijan, which is among the first countries to sign the UN Global Compact for Migration in 2018, sets an example for others in the effectiveness of migration work.

Within the framework of the event, the participants became acquainted with the exhibitions of cultural heritage and culinary products of various countries, as well as of photographs taken by the participants of the photo contest “Migration in Azerbaijan through your lens”.
