Sixth Meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation

The Sixth Meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation was hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on 27-28 September 2018 in Ankara and attended by the parliamentarians from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey. The main item of the meeting’s agenda was “Prospects for innovative entrepreneurship in the TURKPA member countries”.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Berik Ospanov, Chairman of the Commission and member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In his speech, Mr. Ospanov stressed the need for the rapprochement of the national regulatory framework of the member countries in the fields of economy, taxation, science and education through defining priorities on developing innovations in small and medium-sized enterprises and elaborating relevant recommendations within the TURKPA’s framework. Besides, parliamentarians conducted discussions on the prospects of cooperation between the member countries in the field of innovative entrepreneurship.

The Commission approved report and recommendations on the matter to be submitted to the Eighth Plenary Session of TURKPA that will take place in November 2018 in Turkey.

The Commission’s meeting was preceded by the workshop with the participation of experts from those Turkish enterprises developing innovative policies in their activities.
