On 15 June 2022, Deputy Secretary General Talgat Aduov participated at the OSCE Asian Conference co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
The conference took place in Vienna and was held in a hybrid format. The theme of the conference was “Strengthening security for all and by all – synergies and opportunities for cooperation between Europe and Asia”. The program featured an opening ceremony and three sessions entitled "The role of women in building confidence, peace and security – sharing experiences and lessons learned between Europe and Asia", "Climate-related challenges to security and opportunities for co-operation – building on the Stockholm decision" and "The role of civil society in strengthening co-operation between the OSCE and Asian Partners".
The conference chaired by Ambassador Ulrika Funered, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the OSCE, Chairperson of the OSCE Asian Partners for Cooperation Group, brought together officials, heads of international organizations and diplomatic corps.
Current situation in Afghanistan and Ukraine, terrorism threat and post pandemic situation in the world, as well as climate change were considered as the main challenges in the security sphere. The participants exchanged views on efficient mechanisms of international cooperation and improvement of legislative support for peace and security on a global scale.
