TURKPA and SMBDA co-organized Conference on “Innovative Activity of SMEs in Stabilization of Economy’s Increase in Post-Pandemic Period”
On 18 February 2022, with support of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, TURKPA and Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SMBDA) co-organized a conference under the theme “Innovative Activity of SMEs in Stabilization of Economy’s Increase in Post-Pandemic Period”.
The opening session was addressed by Mr. Aghalar Valiyev, member of Milli Majlis and member of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation, Mr. Talgat Aduov, TURKPA Deputy Secretary General and Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of the SMBDA.
The conference included two working sessions with participation of parliamentarians and representatives of Milli Majlis, representatives of Ministries of Economy and Agriculture, business associations and National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In his speech, Mr. Aghalar Valiyev noted the significance of cooperative work in supporting the small and medium business, stressing the special role of SMBDA in this context. He stressed the active work being carried out within the TURKPA permanent commissions on elaboration of model laws that facilitates the approximation of national legislation of the member states.
Mr. Talgat Aduov noted the significance of multilateral cooperation among the member states based on the common roots, history, language, culture and values that play an essential role in the achievement of common goals. He underlined the importance of restoration of Karabakh with consideration of new trends in green economy and wide participation of small and medium business.
In his turn, Mr. Orkhan Mammadov informed on the work of the #SMBDA and ongoing projects on supporting the small and medium business.
During the sessions, participants made speeches and had a dialogue on existing legislation and implementation aspects on facilitation of small and medium business development and economic recovery in the post-pandemic period. The participants emphasized the importance of sharing knowledge and experience among the TURKPA member states in development and support of small and medium business. Member of Milli Majlis Mr. Fazil Mustafa drew attention to the positive experience of Milli Majlis on elaboration of model laws within the Assembly and noted the significance of study of the legislative experience of the TURKPA member states in this field.
The event was held within the framework of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation. Deputies Secretary General and Secretaries of Commission also took part at the conference.
