II Plenary Session of TURKPA held on 27-28 April in Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been successfully completed. The Plenary Session was devoted to the 20th anniversary of independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, having adopted important decisions.

Distinguished friends,
Ladies and gentlemen,
The great figures of the Turkic world brought force ideas about the unity of Turks throughout the centuries, nevertheless real terms for realization of this idea hopefully emerged late 20th century. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, apart from Turkey, 5 new Turkic states appeared in the political map of the world thus giving impetus to opening new horizons in the historical destiny of our peoples.

Аllow me on behalf of the parliamentary delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic to welcome everybody and thank organizers for invitation to participate in the Second Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries which established on Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev’s the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan initiative proposed during the VIII Summit of the Heads of the Turkic-speaking countries and the for great arrangement of this meeting.

In 2006 the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev, addressed at the VIII Summit of the Heads of States of Turkic-speaking countries with idea to establish the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries.
