TURKPA Secretariat held press conference on the results of 2011.

On 15 December 2011 TURKPA Secretariat held the press conference in Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic.

During the press conference TURKPA Secretary General has informed media about organization’s activities in 2011.RamilHasanovnoted that current year was successful for TURKPA efficiently cooperating with such significant international institutions as IPU, OSCE and OIC with observer and guest status in these organizations. It was emphasized that TURKPA is open organization in its activity and ready for cooperation with any other international and regional organizations. Thus, negotiations are held with regard to granting an observer status on mutual basis in the Baltic Assembly, as well as on establishing relationships with Nordic Council and GUAM.

Speaking about previous activities, Mr. Hasanov informedon4 permanent
commissions established at the TURKPA II plenary session held in April 2011 in Astana. He said that these commissions are entitled to present the draft proposals and recommendations aiming at harmonization of legislation of Turkic-speaking countries.

As far as the future activities concerned, Mr. Hasanov informed about 3d plenary session to be held in Bishkek, a number of international events in 2012, including holding a seminar for the parliamentary journalists of the TURKPA member countries.
