Secretary General attended the 49th Plenary Session of PABSEC

On 5-6 July 2017, Secretary General Jandos Asanov participated on behalf of the TurkPA Chairmanship-in-Office, as an observer, in the 49th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) held in Istanbul, Turkey.

The session was hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) and chaired by H. E. Mr. Ismail Kahraman, PABSEC President, Speaker of the GNAT.

On the Session’s side-lines, Mr. Asanov had the opportunity to talk to the Speaker of the GNAT H.E. Mr. Ismail Kahraman and other dignitaries.

The delegations of the PABSEC member parliaments, including delegations of Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as observer organizations and partner institutions of PABSEC, took part in the gathering. The parliamentarians discussed “The Role of the Parliaments in Ensuring Security and Peace in the Black Sea Region” as the main theme of the 49th Plenary Session.

During the Session’s closing ceremony on the 6th of July, the PABSEC Presidency was handed over to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
