TurkPA Secretary General visited the Kyrgyz Republic and met with the Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic

On May 31, Toraga (Speaker) of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Chynybai Tursunbekov received the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA), Jandos Asanov.

Toraga, noting the significant role of the TurkPA aimed at strengthening relations between the Turkic-speaking countries, stressed that this year will become particularly important in its activities. In particular, he expressed readiness of the Jogorku Kenesh of the KR to receive chairmanship from the Kazakh side during the next 7th plenary meeting of the TurkPA in the second half of 2017 in Bishkek. Chynybai Tursunbekov stressed the need to further deepen the cooperation of the Turkic-speaking countries within the framework of the Assembly, which will positively affect the bilateral relations of the TurkPA member countries.

The parties also discussed in detail the ongoing preparations for the 7th plenary meeting of the TurkPA, including the agenda of the forthcoming plenary meeting.
