UNAOC Global Forum started in Baku

Secretary General Jandos Asanov attended the 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations opened in the capital of Azerbaijan on 26 April 2016 under the theme “Living Together in Inclusive Societies: A Challenge and A Goal”. The Forum was addressed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and in his speech Azerbaijani leader talked about multiculturalism traditions in the country. President said: “This is our wealth, we are proud of our history. For centuries, representatives of different religions and cultures lived in Azerbaijan”.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon delivered his speech via video conference, as well as the United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain José Manuel García-Margallo spoke at the casino maxi opening ceremony.

The event brings together more than 3000 delegates, including heads of state and government, high-level officials, parliamentarians, politicians, public figures, representatives of leading international organizations and think tanks.
