Secretary General Jandos Asanov attended international conference “Migration in Central Asia”.

On 2 June 2015, TURKPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov attended, as a moderator, the international conference "Migration in Central Asia" held in Bishkek under the auspices of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

The conference’s agenda included current migration challenges in the region, intensification of international cooperation in law enforcement, protection of the rights of migrants, refugees, stateless persons and combating human trafficking.

On the sidelines of the conference, Secretary General met with Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Mr. Asylbek Jeenbekov, members of the parliament and representatives of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as with Chairperson of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons Mr. Thierry Mariani, Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Central Asia Mr. Deyan Keserovich, UNHCR Regional Coordinator for Central Asia Mr. Bernand Doyle and the representative of Kyrgyz diaspora in Kazakhstan.
