President of Turkic Academy visited TURKPA headquarters
Mr. Darkhan Kydyrali, President of the Turkic Academy, paid a courtesy visit to the TURKPA Secretariat and held meeting with Secretary General Jandos Asanov. The parties discussed prospects of cooperation in the light of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Academy and TURKPA Secretariat in April 2014.
Coordination meeting was held in Turkic Council
The First Coordination Meeting of TURKPA, TURKSOY and Turkic Academy was held on 24 November 2014 in Istanbul under the auspices of the Turkic Council. The meeting was attended by the TURKPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov, as well as by the Secretary General of TURKSOY Duisen Kaseinov, the President of the Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali and the President of the World League of Turkic Youth Ekrem Abdullayev. Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ramil Hasanov gave information about the last activities of the Turkic Council and has drawn attention to the importance of regularizing such coordination meetings and thus establishing effective cooperation among the organizations.
Second meeting of committees on social policy was hosted by Milli Mejlis
The second joint meeting of the Committees in charge on social policy and health care of the TURKPA member parliaments was held on 21 November 2014 in Baku under the auspices of the Azerbaijani Chairmanship of TURKPA. The meeting was led by Mr. Hadi Rajabli, Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan. The meeting was dedicated to the migration challenges and opportunities for the TURKPA countries and was organized with support of the Baku Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The delegations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey, as well as the representatives of the IOM Headquarters, State Migration Service of Azerbaijan took part in the meeting.
Fourth Media Forum of Turkic speaking countries and communities was held
TURKPA Deputy Secretary General Kurşad Melih Sarıarslan attended the Forth Media Forum of Turkic Speaking Countries and Communities held on 15-17 November 2014 in Girne (TRNC). The event was organized under the auspices of the Directorate General of Press and Information of the Republic of Turkey.
TURKPA participated in the Eurasian Social Sciences Forum
The Third Eurasian Forum on Social Sciences was held on 15-16 November, 2014 in Almaty Kazakhstan organized by the Eurasian Research Institute of Khoca Akhmet Yassawi University. TURKPA Secretariat was represented in the Forum by Anar Rahimov, head of legal expertise and public relations section.
TURKPA Deputy Secretary General attended the GUAM Session
TURKPA Deputy Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov attended, as a guest, the 7th Session of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, which was held on 10-11 November in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
Fourth meeting of the Economic Commission held in Astana
The Fourth meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation took place on 10 November 2014 in Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main item of the meeting’s agenda was the cooperation in developing energy sector among Turkic-speaking countries. The meeting was headed by Mr. Serikjan Kanaev, Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation and member of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
