TURKPA observation mission presented its statement on parliamentary elections in Turkey
TURKPA observers led by Mr. Ayaz Orujov, member of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan, presented statement on results of the mission’s monitoring of repeat parliamentary elections held on 1 November 2015 in the Republic of Turkey.
TURKPA observers held press conference on elections in Azerbaijan
On 2 November 2015, TURKPA international observers’ mission led by Mr. Serikjan Kanayev, member of Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation, gave the press conference on conclusions of the parliamentary elections held in the Azerbaijan on 1 November 2015.
TURKPA observation mission started its program in Turkey
On 29 October 2015, observation mission of TURKPA arrived in Ankara to conduct a short-term monitoring of repeat parliamentary elections to be held on 1 November 2015 in Turkey. The mission is led by Mr. Ayaz Orujev, member of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan, Mr. Akylbek Sultanov, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic accompanied by the representatives of the staff of the Azerbaijani parliament and representatives of the TURKPA Secretariat.
TURKPA observers held meetings with officials in Baku
On 30 October 2015, observation mission led by Mr. Serikjan Kanayev, member of Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Economic Cooperation, met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Mr. Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev. Mr. Mammadguliyev welcomed observers in Baku and emphasized importance of observation of elections in Azerbaijan by the parliamentary dimension of Turkic cooperation. Deputy Minister also held exchange of views on future activities and projects of the Assembly and emphasized necessity to increase further efficiency of Turkic cooperation institutions.
TurkPA observation mission arrived in Azerbaijan
On 29 October 2015, observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA) arrived in Baku to conduct a short-term monitoring of the parliamentary elections to be held in the Republic of Azerbaijan on 1 November 2015. The mission is led by Mr. Serikjan Kanayev, member of Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the TurkPA Commission on Economic Cooperation.
TurkPA Secretary General met with the President of ANAS
On 28th of October, 2015 TurkPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov visited the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and met with its President Mr Akif Alizade.
TurkPA Secretary General visited Nakhchivan
On October 27, 2015 TurkPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and met with the local leadership and other officials. Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Ali Mejlis (Supreme Assembly) of Nakhchivan warmly welcomed Mr Asanov. Ali Mejlis Chairman briefed the TurkPA Secretary General of ongoing developments in the autonomy, achievements in the development of the local industry and agriculture, in ensuring food security, creation of jobs. Mr Talibov also recalled the summit of the heads of Turkic-speaking countries in 2009, when the Nakhchivan Agreement was signed on the creation of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic-speaking States (Turk Kenesi).
