In the framework of the 7th Plenary Session of TURKPA Mr. Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic met with Mr. Ogtay Asadov, Chairman of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh expressed his gratitude to Chairman of Milli Mejlis for the visit to Kyrgyzstan for participation in the TURKPA 7th Plenary Session and noted that two countries have common historical roots, as well as the turkic origin of the two nations and Azerbaijan is a dynamically developing state. Inter-parliamentary cooperation has a special place not only in establishing a constructive dialogue and exchange of experience, but also in achieving a high level of mutual understanding and support between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
In turn, Mr. Asadov thanked Mr. Dzhumabekov for the warm welcome and congratulated him on occasion of election to the post of Toraga, as well as on occasion of Kyrgyz chairmanship in TURKPA. Discussing the cooperation within the TURKPA, Mr. Asadov expressed satisfaction with the participation of the Uzbek parliamentary delegation at the Plenary Session as an honored guest and noted that this is a great merit of the Kyrgyz side. Azerbaijan also attaches great importance to the further development of bilateral relations and is ready to strengthen ties in all spheres on the basis of mutual beneficial cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, Chairman of Milli Mejlis invited Chairman of Jogorku Kenesh to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan.
