The Naryn oblast (region) of the Kyrgyz Republic occupies a quarter of the territory of the country and located in the high mountains of Pamir – Ala-too mountain range.
The region is famous for its rich water and hydropower resources and it also has abundant iron ore and coal fields. Well developed livestock breeding of the area provides the capital area of the country and neighbouring countries with meat and dairy products.
The Naryn oblast has a unique architectural monument of the Great Silk Road – Tash Rabat caravan sarai built in the 15th century with mountain stones at the elevation of more than 3500 metres.
On the 19-20 September, 2017 TurkPA delegation consisted of Secretary General Jandos Asanov, Deputy Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov and Commission Secretary Kanatbek Kurmanbekov visited the Naryn region. The delegation met with the Plenipotentiary Representative (Governor) of the Kyrgyz Government to the region Mr Amanbay Kayipov, Mayor of the Naryn town Mr Emilbek Alymkulov. TurkPA Secretary General J.Asanov briefed of the purposes and objectives of TurkPA and its current activities. The parties exchanged views on the possible areas of mutual cooperation.
Speaking at the Naryn State University TurkPA Secretary General J.Asanov said that TurkPA carries its activities strictly in line with the United Nations’ norms and principles and the work of the Turkic cooperation institutions do not contradict, on the contrary complements the work of other regional interstate structures. He said that TurkPA is proud of latest achievements and rich culture of Kyrgyzstan, which is part of common Turkic legacy. TurkPA Secretary General thanked the Rector of the university Ms Damira Omuralieva for warm welcome and hospitality shown to the TurkPA delegation.
The TurkPA delegation also visited Tash Rabat historic architectural complex and the Naryn musical school.
