A round table titled “With the path of ancestors” («Бабалар ізімен») was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Baku on 29th May, 2017. The event was dedicated to the arrival of scientific-historic expedition by the Saghadat Nurmagambetov International Social Charity Foundation, Kazakhstan led by the foundation’s Astana branch chief Sapar Isqaqov. The expedition is on its way to the Kazakh district of Azerbaijan and with its onward journey to Georgia and other neighbouring countries.
The round table was chaired by Mr Beibit Isabayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan and the list of speakers included Academician Nizami Jafarov, member of Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan, member of TurkPA, Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Imre Laszloczki, President of Foundation of Turkic Historic and Cultural Heritage Ms Günay Efendieva, representatives of Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Science.
Speaking at the event TurkPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov said that both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have rich histories and there is a need for the historians to study each other’s past, which would undoubtedly lead to strengthening of mutual understanding and interaction. TurkPA Secretary General presented to the guests from Kazakhstan a memorial souvenir.
